Rendra and novel Maria Zaitun by Joko Santoso. The source of this research data is the poem text Nyanyian Angsa by W. The theory used in this study is transformation with qualitative descriptive research methods. This research aims to describe the form of additions, substitutions, and differences in the poetry Nyanyian Angsa by W. Rendra to novel Maria Zaitun by Joko Santoso. The process of transformation on the form of poetry to other forms is still rare, but in this study researchers managed to find transformation from the poem Nyanyian Angsa by W. The transformation of literary work today began to flourish in the field of literary studies, especially from novel to film form. This case is a problem which becomes question in the mind of the readers of the KCB novel.The literary reception towards KCB novel which eventually lead to the film is a creative act as a reader. Based on the facts above, the KCB novel and film have many differences causedby the reception process through KCB novel conducted by film production (screenwriter, director, andproducer). In the KCB noveland film, the differences that exist are not only technical problems, but a deliberate distinction with aspecific purpose as well. Therefore, it would be reasonable if the film is different from the novel. The technical issues, such asmedia novel form of words and language, meanwhile the main media of film is an audio-visual (soundand picture). The differences which frequently arise in ecranisationhave often caused by the differences in the literary system (novel) and film. The film is based on a novel, including thereception of research resources in the form of adaptations in other media. One of the novels deserves to bestudied are El Shirazy’s Ketika Cinta Bertasbih (KCB) 1 and 2. One study of ecranisation is a transformation from novel to film.
